Golf Ireland Handicap indexes are required and a player must retain a valid Golf Ireland handicap until the final round of the league. For a score to be eligible to count towards the Order of Merit title, you must have a minimum of 20 counting scores on your handicap record on the day of play. If you do not have a minimum of 20 counting scores on your handicap record on that date your score will not count towards the Order of Merit. This will be verified on the Golf Ireland website. Moyvalley accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracy on the Golf Ireland website.
All Golf at Moyvalley Summer Challenge Order of Merit events will be played from the White (men) and Red (women) Tee markers.
Order of Merit Scoring
*A player’s best five 18-hole stableford (stableford gross for the gross prize) scores in the qualifying period in designated events will count for the league. If a player plays more than once in a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday) only their best score from that week will count.
Breaking of Ties
Should a tie occur, a player’s best four scores will be used, then three best and so on. If still tied, the player’s best card back 9-6-3-2-1 will be used, followed by front 9-6-3-2-1. If still tied, the winner will be drawn by lot.
All competitors must sign in at the golf shop prior to their round, providing their Golf Ireland number and home club name. All competitors must sign in to the competition on computer prior to their round beginning. You are not entered into the competition unless you are correctly entered on the computer. If there are technical issues preventing a competitor from entering on computer they must bring it to the attention of golf shop staff before their round commences. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in disqualification.
The prizes are not transferrable, and individuals can win a maximum of one prize in the Order of Merit. If a prize is unavailable, an alternative of equal value will be provided. Prize values are based on retail price in the golf shop. Member discounts and sale items are excluded.
The Golf at Moyvalley Summer Challenge Order of Merit events will be a single, weekly re-entry competition from each Monday to Sunday. Tee times will be offered subject to availability each day. Prizes will be awarded weekly based on entries. Exceptions to this may apply at Bank Holiday weekends or other periods where it is not possible to complete a full seven day period Monday to Sunday. If you need clarification about this please ask before playing.
